Jeff Meader, owner/operator at Eminent Domaine, has been a fixture in the Oregon wine industry for over a decade. His first vintage was in 2006 at NW Wine Company then located in McMinnville. Fast forward 10 years and Eminent Domaine opened their tasting room doors on Memorial Day 2016.
When Jeff first contacted OnlineNW about Internet service, he was referred by several local wineries. He was in the beginning stages of building his tasting room. Armed with blueprints he wanted to strategically pre-plan the install in order to hide the equipment for aesthetic reasons and coordinate his long-term goal of having service available at his future on-site winery with an upstairs apartment. Having robust Wi-Fi access throughout the tasting room was also important as all sales would be processed on-site with iPads via a cloud based point-of-sale system.
OnlineNW worked with Jeff to provide solutions for his immediate needs with an eye towards the future and his long-term goals. Ultimately, the initial feed radio was installed on his warehouse and cable was pulled through conduit back to the tasting room. Due to positioning between the warehouse and tasting room no equipment was visible to visitors therefore not distracting from the ambiance and sweeping vineyard views. With the connection on the warehouse, Jeff is set up to service the future winery and apartment which will be placed in the current warehouse location. Combined with a robust wireless router Jeff is able to quickly and reliably process orders on-site and fulfill web orders from the tasting room. In Jeff’s words, “Going with OnlineNW has been worry free. They took care of planning and implementing the solutions. We rely on Internet connectivity so heavily that we tend to take it for granted. It just works so I can focus on running my business.”
